About Manthagini Kumaresh

Manthagini Kumaresh is a versatile writer and poet whose voice was shaped by wartime realities and a deep concern for social justice. She began her literary journey at just thirteen, delivering her first spoken word performance at the courtyard of the historic Nallur Temple in Jaffna, Sri Lanka—a powerful response to the injustice faced by Thileepan during his hunger strike.

In 2003, she self-published “Purithal” a compilation of short stories previously featured in local newspapers and magazines. Fluent in both Tamil and English, Manthagini weaves her creative expression across both languages. Her debut poetry collection, Midnight’s Toll, reflects her deep engagement with themes of identity, resilience, and human connection.

Beyond poetry and storytelling, Manthagini shares reflections on life, inner strength, healing, and purpose—offering motivational insights drawn from personal and collective experience. Through her posts, she invites readers to pause, feel, and find meaning in the everyday.

Manthagini holds a Master’s in Health Science from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Change Management from Carleton University. She currently lives in Oshawa, Ontario, with her family and her beloved dog, Leia, continuing to write with purpose and passion.
